The Boulder Creek Veterinary Clinic says goodbye to one of their own today. Emmy, our 14 year old grey and white house kitty is at peace after her battle with oral cavity cancer.

It has been great to get back to the clinic and see our clients again. We will be forever thankful to all who battled the CZU Fire and saved our town! After 2 weeks in a hotel room I was going a little crazy so I filmed this short movie for my friends and family. I hope this finds you all safe and as settled as possible during this very stressful time. My heart reaches out to all of my very special clients who have tragically lost their homes. I hope you have the ability to rebuild your lives in Boulder Creek. Shelli and Jenn have been with me since the evacuation and together we have answered the vet clinic phone line 24/7. With the help of Michele in New Mexico who can access our computer records we have refilled hundreds of prescr...iptions and provided clients close to our hotel with heartworm prevention and flea control. We will hopefully find a way over these next few days to be able to offer some veterinary care to our clients-- if not at the clinic, perhaps in a temporary trailer accessible to all of you still in the area. To all my loyal and faithful clients I send my love, support and positive energy your way. There are no words that can ease the pain and devastation we are all feeling right now. My family, my staff (some of whom have lost their homes) and our personal pets are all safe. We were able to get all animals out of the hospital and cannot thank Dr. Atton at Felton Animal Hospital (who lost his home), Dr. Corie Phinn at Coast Veterinary Services and Dr. Bill Arnold at Valley ...Oak Veternary Clinic for providing cage space and assistance in our hours of need. A most special thank you to a past employee and good friend, Jill Bender, who opened Felton Veterinary Clinic for us at midnight on Wednesday and helped organize all the evacuated animals. Michele Farwell who now lives in New Mexico is my savior--she has taken over the operation of our computer, so she is able to access your medical records and has been coordinating medication refills with me. I have negotiated with Pacific and Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists to fill prescriptions for my local patients without a mandatory exam. I also packed up some medications including heartgard and nexgard so please reach out to me if you need supplies. I do not know if my house survived, but as of this morning the clinic is still standing. My commitment to you is to help support your pets and you through this crisis, and I promise this will not be the end of my career! My staff, associate doctors and you all are my heart and soul-- if I need to practice in a tent I will be there for you the minute I can get back into town. Please stay safe. Dr. Kathie Gerrity

Update at 630 pm. The softaware IT people are still advised to get to me (I’ve called multiple times) I will do my best to get records as soon as I am able to. Thank you again and stay safe! UPDATE AT 245PM we are now officially closed! Michele Farwell is currently working on getting the servers up at her house to be able to get people vaccine records if needed. If you need your vaccination records please leave your name as it is in our system along with your pets name an...d your email and as soon as we can get them to you we will.
