#FridayQuote Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there. - Will Rodgers Stagnation, whether it be in the economy or in an organizational process, is the enemy of business. Safety, like business, must align and adapt to be part of continual improvement. Safety professionals know this, focusing on what their marketplace needs now and into the future in order to be the catalyst and plan for positive change. Business is not the enemy of safety...: complacency is. #betterbusinessthroughsafety, #borettiinc, #ClientSideChats See more

#FridayQuote Business opportunities are like buses, there’s always another one coming. - Richard Branson If you own your own business or ever run one, there are days it seems like you’ll never get over the hump. But just when you think that, opportunities reveal themselves. Safety is very much the same way. Safety professionals know that running and growing a safety process is a series of opportunities that avail themselves. Capturing the opportunities, molding them to the ...user, and executing them are the keys to success. #betterbusinessthroughsafety, #borettiinc, #ClientSideChats See more

#FridayQuote If people like you, they’ll listen to you, but if they trust you, they’ll do business with you. - Zig Ziglar A key axiom in leadership success is trust, regardless of the type of leadership practiced. The same is true for ethics. For safety, we cannot have leadership and practice ethically if we don’t develop our relationships built upon trust. Business success is based on relationships: so too is safety success. Without it, there are no transactions.... #betterbusinessthroughsafety, #borettiinc, #ClientSideChats See more

#FridayQuote We have a strategic plan. It’s called doing things. - Herb Kelleher Herb Kelleher was certainly a pioneer in changing the way airlines operate profitably. His philosophy was based on finding efficient ways to get work done, and he understood safety was paramount to retaining customers. But his success was founded on having the right people with the right talents in the right place. The same can be said for safety. Having a knowledgeable Safety Professional do t...he job is much more efficient: its a positive return investment in getting safety done. #betterbusinessthroughsafety, #borettiinc, #ClientSideChats See more

#FridayQuote Almost everything worthwhile carries with it some sort of risk, whether it’s starting a new business, whether it’s leaving home, whether it’s getting married, or whether it’s flying into space. - Chris Hadfield Going into space and going into business opportunities carry risk, yet both can be done successfully. This is where Safety Professionals make the difference: safety provides the foundational value to the success of business risk by understanding it and o...ffering solutions so the business can sustain and grow. Businesses aren’t in business for safety, but they can use safety to gain a competitive advantage for success. #betterbusinessthroughsafety, #borettiinc, #ClientSideChats See more

#FridayQuote I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure that you realize that what you heard is not what I meant. - Robert J. McCloskey If you’ve worked in this profession long enough, you fully understand this quote. One of the key success skills for business is clear communication. When done right, great things happen; and when done not-so-right, there can be disastrous outcomes. Same is true with safety: processes developed in a bubbl...e are difficult to communicate (therefore, resistance to implement). Instead, ask your customers to contribute and they will understand the message very well. The only constant for safety is not compromising toward an unsafe process: that won’t help anyone (I trust everyone understands what’s being said). #betterbusinessthroughsafety, #borettiinc, #ClientSideChats See more

#FridayQuote I am fond of pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals. - Winston Churchill Sometimes things are not as they seem. This quote, for instance, is said to mean ... dogs are trainable, pliable, and want human approval while cats want things from humans with no intention of serving them. Pigs are intelligent, omnivores, and as such, view themselves as equals. It’s also believed this quote was said in response to a comment Stalin made at the Yalta Conference in 1945 in which he told Churchill that FDR was a pig. There’s even question if Winston stated this exact quote at all as Sir Anthony Montague Browne, WSC’s private secretary, quotes a different version. What does this have to do with safety? A lot: know and understand the diverse views and abilities of the safety customer you serve as an equal to be successful. #betterbusinessthroughsafety, #borettiinc, #ClientSideChats See more
