We really needed lighting over this outdoor dining table. Found a great solution with this beautiful Verner Panton flower pot pendant lamp.
Came upon this old article by Phyllis VanDoren-Kessel. Fun to see again! https://www.pillartopost.org//world-design-forever-modern-
We are back in business! I can’t thank Debra Broz enough for her amazing work on the restoration of my treasured Malcolm Leland bird shelter. This was his personal piece I acquired from him many years ago. It is the one featured in his early catalogs so it’s really special. So glad to have it back where it belongs!
This photograph taken last year. The Eames house bird in the window of my shop and his regular admirer outside. This was a regular event for some weeks!
Here is a super cool and very rare Van Keppel-Green candelabra suitable for indoors or outdoors!
The moon in my morning coffee!
Here is a sweet little writing desk from the 1950s by Vista of California. Beautiful natural grained mahogany tops and drawers with white enameled framework. Look for it on the website later this morning!
Evening view from where I sit
Just hung this lovely hall mirror with display shelf by the amazing Danish designers Pedersen and Hansen from the 1960s. Available now Check the website!
Work continues on the house Another project about to be checked off our list! Wait for the unveiling in a couple days
Sweet little vignette on my fireplace hearth A trio of 1950s candleholders. Sometimes attributed to Paul McCobb. Though not actually sure who to pin the design on! NFS
First thing you see when you enter a Boomerang. A beautiful Italian rocking chair designed in 1970 and a delightful Malcolm Leland module Lantern atop an Eames LTR. Plus a crazy oil painting from 1958 titled rocket Redstone.
My talented husband @kurtstell_art is finishing up three amazing graphite drawings of iconic palm springs architecture. These will be for sale in the shop in the very near future. He is open to custom commissions as well!
Another home project complete and crossed off our list. 25 years ago I bought a box of new old stock Italian glass mosaic tiles at the Rose Bowl flea market. I had them installed in the bathroom of our San Diego home and still had enough to use in Palm Springs. They are in our kitchen now and really set off the look!
I brought in this early reissue Eames surfboard table from my personal collection today. Can’t seem to find a place for it in the new house. It features a glossy surface and actual zinc plated legs. These features were on only the very first few examples from the early 90s. After that they went to a matte finish on the surface and chrome plated legs. This version is much more authentic!
Sometimes I make an exception and bring some thing new into the shop. My husband, Kurt Stell is an accomplished artist in many mediums and this painting he did a few years ago called Holly Is one exception. It’s an impressive 4’ x 4’ and just a joy to look at. He is currently working on some amazing graphite drawings of notable modern architecture here in Palm Springs. Stay tuned for that!
