Does your child only love reading graphic novel-style books? Not too enthusiastic about the type of humor? DON’T WORRY! Fostering the love of reading means letting them choose what they read. It means putting away the reading timers and spending time enjoying a book together. The humor in these books actually rely on the skill of inferring. Next time your kid laughs at something in the book, ask him/her why it is funny. You will be promoting comprehension skills while showing interest in something they love!
