The San Benito High School Robotics Team invites students to join meetings each Wednesday at 5 p.m. The mission of the Robotics Team is to expose students to ST...EAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) opportunities through project based learning to foster students’ critical thinking skills and creativity. Members can learn about programming, electronics, mechanical design, and manufacturing. Not only can students learn about robotics, but they can also learn about and apply their skills in marketing, finances, graphic design, and leadership. The team participates in the annual FIRST Robotics Competition where it must build and operate an industrial-sized robot to compete in a difficult field game by the 12-week deadline. The SBHS team has won multiple awards in addition to the 2018 Cal Games Competition. Joining the team opens the door to scholarship opportunities, career-oriented training, and potential industry connections.
