Today we started teaching after 5 months and 23 days of being closed due to Covid-19. During this time we taught virtually beginning the day after we closed but as of today we are OPEN for in-person private training in Pilates and Gyrotonic. Interestingly enough, not everyone is ready to take the plunge and do in-person training so we will continue teaching hybrid zoom and in-person sessions. We completely respect each person’s choice to continue virtual training and have e...ven discovered that teaching online has strengthened our teaching skills and challenged the students to really step up and take ownership of their learning. It’s been an interesting and fantastic experience. My first in-person session today was with lovely Bim who just couldn’t wait to get back in the studio and workout on the Gyrotonic Tower. Throughout the SIP she continued her sessions online. Bim rocks ! All in all it was really a great day and we’re so excited to see everyone even if we have to wear masks. #staysafeeveryone #maskson #openforbusiness
So, I FINALLY finished the backrest of the second Gyrotonic bench! Phew! I can now call this project DONE !!!! Now, I move on to the sewing of the remaining ...shoulder blocks and boxes. Did I tell you that I’m also making my own folding half mats, a pedi pole, and mats to go on the reformers? The goal is to finish this year What projects are you working on?

Last October I had the brilliant idea of reupholstering all of my studio equipment. That’s 5 reformers, 2 Gyrotonic towers, a Cadillac, Pilates chair, boxes and on and on. One by one I’ve been finishing up each piece, working on them in my spare time. My biggest challenge has been the shoulder blocks due to their small size, my non-industrial sewing machine and my lack of sewing skills. Last weekend I decided to give them one last try before calling BB to order the...m. Ha... I did it! They’re not professional perfect, but pretty darn good for an amateur if I say so myself. Now just 4 more sets to go. I expect that each one will get easier.
