Have you ever heard of a kettlebell swing? If you not, it’s time you add this functional exercise to your routine. Kettlebell swings are a full-body exercise that really target your hips and core. They also help you burn more calories because they are so metabolically demanding Here’s how to do a kettlebell swing with proper form:... 1 Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your feet firmly planted. 2 Place the kettlebell about a foot in front of you. 3 Hinge at your hips (don’t squat!) to pick up the kettlebell. 4 Tighten your shoulders and glutes. Brace your core. 5 Hike the kettlebell back between your legs, like hiking a football... only don’t let go! 6 Snap your hips forward and use your lower body to lift the kettlebell. At the top of the lift, it should feel a little like it’s floating. 7 Hike the kettlebell back through your legs for another rep. The key to kettlebell swings is focusing on your lower body. Your arms are engaged, but don’t use them to lift the kettlebell. Also, don’t let momentum take over. Make sure your hips and legs are doing the work. What do you think?
