To whom it may concern: How can we focus on providing for our families if we're constantly being threatened by then next shutdown? This is killing the American ...dream we were taught to strive for! If you want to fine me, take my licenses, put me and my employees out of work....COME DO IT! I'm done with this BS system where the goal posts are changing daily. A system no one can or will explain to us. To all Mayors, City Council members and County Supervisors this is your time to STEP UP for the people in the counties you were elected by. Will you do whats right or will you stick to your political agenda? Will you do nothing while the people in our communities are suffering? How much more will it take before all of you come together and say this system is flawed? These are real questions that most of you can't answer because you have no damn clue, just like the rest of us. That, ladies and gentlemen, should be your moral compass. I know you're reading this. You read everything in this group. I don't want your job, I just want mine. Please do something now or forever be remembered as one of the greatest failures in public service. I'm tired of doing your job while struggling to do mine. I'm listening to the stories of your constituents, their fears and their heartache, speaking up for them! Also, a heads up to the state agents who are living among us. You should be ashamed if you take action against any of our businesses who are barley keeping it together financially and mentally. We are your neighbors. Have a heart for your community. Your notices and threats are a hard kick to the gut of people just like you who want to provide for their family. There has to be a better way to balance public safety while simultaneously allowing the people in central California to survive. Remaining open at 25% should be the minimum allowed for all businesses to operate. It surely can't be zero. How could anyone survive or zero? We were asked to stabilize our hospitals 7 months ago but yet our flawed system doesn't account for that. By now everyone knows the risk and the necessary precautions to keep themselves safe from this virus. We should be able to decide for ourselves what is comfortable or not if out in public. If people want to stay home, let them. If people want to leave home, let them. No one is being forced to be around other people. No one is being forced into an occupation that requires them to be around other people. It's a choice we as free Americans have....so when people go against the next shutdown, understand, they were given no other option from politicians just like you. See more
