Yesterday, we looked at the fact that California was #1 in the nation for average consumer debt (and not the good #1!). But at least CA residents manage to stay middle-of-the-pack for FICO scores, with an average of 708.
California takes the cake as the state with the most personal debt per household. In fact, the average person has $73,400 debt in CA, a 48.6% increase since 2003. That also includes a 2:1 debt to income ratio compared to salaries. (And that's not a good thing.) On Friday we’ll reveal the state with the lowest total debt!
