Ever wonder where some of the market leftovers go? @rootdownfarm
a sunday soak, we wish it was at the spa but this is the next best thing . . . soak your beans for a few hours or overnight to break down some of the complex sugars, this will help with digestion. soaking makes ‘em cook faster, too. not necessary but if you’ve thought far enough ahead, why not?
broccoli for sunday supper here
Flat Stanley helped out at market today. Does anyone else remember doing this in primary school ?! . . Its a pretty endearing concept. ... . . Stanley Lambchop was squashed flat by a bulletin board while he was sleeping. He decides to make the best of being flat and mails himself inside an envelope all around the world. This guy came to us from New Jersey. . . The goal of the Flat Stanley project is to develop reading and writing skills as the kiddos send him off on different adventures and participate in letter writing along the way.

Sandy here, doing today’s post. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we use the word farmer vs farmworker and the reframing that needs to be done around this labor force. I know I need more time before sharing a fully developed thought. If you find pause in your day to sit with this for a moment, I would love to invite you to join the conversation. Maybe you’ll be able to find the words that I cannot.
