CAUTION** very raw post ahead This will be long, so if you stick with me till the end, thank u My name is Jade Rocca. Not many of you know me personally but here is my story. I started Blooming Forward on 10/1/18 while I was in rehab for drug addiction. I started to buy myself flowers once a week and they began to symbolize something so much bigger - that we all grow out of darkness. ... 2/27 was my 3rd year anniversary of being clean from cocaine and pills. For some reason these last few weeks have been particularly hard with my addiction. I’m struggling - mentally and physically. I have come SO close to caving in and meeting my demons on a glass coffee table once again. Yesterday was close - too close. It was right in front of me. I cannot tell you how many things went through my head in justification of doing it. Didn’t help that these were successful people in their late 30’s from New York. If they can be successful and do it I can do it too If I do one key my boyfriend won’t notice later I’m fucking 29, am I never going to party like this again FUCK I miss her I deserve it These are just some of the hundreds of thoughts that scrambled through my mind as I suffered through yesterday afternoon. They called my name and I said yes, and as I stood up to take my keys to the bathroom I sat back down, put my shoes on, grabbed my purse and LEFT. I called my boyfriend when I got to my car and screamed and cried. I was so pissed and angry. I wanted it more than I am happy to admit. But I chose me instead. It wasn’t fucking easy. It was hard as hell. It still is, 3 years later... This morning I woke up and in bed I held my own hand, consciously. Probably for the first time ever in this way. I felt the nuckols of each hand and spoke to my self. This is what I said: I fucking love you so much You’re absolutely incredible You are so strong You ARE Blooming Forward This company means so much more to me than pretty flowers.
