Up a creek without a paddle? Just booked a river rafting trip while I’m up at the cabin! Highly recommend @tahoeraft or @truckeeriverrafting if you’re new to rafting. There is a also a way to float on the river using your own rafts. If choosing to BYO(float), I recommend a thick raft that will feel comfortable for a few hours. TAKE A HIKE! Breath that mountain air, observe the flowers, meditate. There are so many hiking trails in Tahoe with some of our favorites being just down the street from our cabin. This picture came from an impromptu five mile hike just the other day. Beginner level, so more of a walk, with wide trails and cell service the whole time (in case the posted trail maps are not enough)... This five mile loop took me about 2 hours. Who says you can’t take your conference call on the go or listen to an audiobook while enjoying nature. Have little ones? This is a longer version of a similar hike. With little ones, I’d bring water, snacks and potentially do the 3 mile version. There are plenty of benches, tables and rest areas along the way.
