A LITTLE BIT OF ITALY NEAR SAN DIEGO, CA!!! We skipped the gondolas in Venice, Italy 4 yrs ago because the prices were outrageous!!! Then I found this lit...tle gem, The Black Swan Gondola Company, right here on Lake San Marcos, near Carlsbad, Ca!!! The gondolas are authentic and were imported from Venice, Italy!!! It's the perfect spot on a serene lake that doesn't allow power boats. The owner, Drew, named the company after the rare black swans that where brought here in the 1970's. It's situated right next to an Italian restaurant "Amalfi" which is great for small bites and wine before you head off on your adventure!! They also allow you to bring your own snacks and beverages on your 55 min cruise!! Our Gondelier was Ryan and we just loved him!!! This is also on the same property as The Lake House Resort where we are staying, which I highly recommend!!!
