The Scottsboro Boys were nine black teenagers ages 13 to 20, who were falsely accused in 1931 of raping two white women on a train. An all white jury found the... young young men guilty, although the women eventually admitted to lying about the rape. The youngest of the boys was blind, and was born with syphilis... proving the boys could not have raped the women without spreading the disease. The Scottsboro Boys collectively served more than 100 years in prison. Only one of the men survived, after serving several decades in prison to later be exonerated. He died shortly after he was released from prison. (The right of blacks to serve on juries was established by their case.) See more

Buy black economic development is one the main ingredients to regain black power and equal justice. Sometimes it’s a little more inconvenient to shop and buy bl...ack because our communities are not as close in proximity as we were post in slavery and sometimes whites would not sell to us and even if they did they charged us higher prices. This gave rise to bartering and trading among ourselves which meant the dollar value stayed in the community.We must return to the system that gave rise to black Wall Street .
