VFW Post 8988 and VFW Post 8988 Auxiliary

Richard Rudolph passed away today. He will be truly missed. Thank you for all the good times.

We are looking for at least 6 volunteers to help with the VFW BREAKFAST ON MARCH 21st at 9:00-12:00. Please let me know if you can help. If not we will not have a breakfast.

We at VFW Post 8988 support our local businesses 100 percent. We are proud of our restaurant owners and our theatre owner for standing up for what is right. All our local businesses have bent over backwards trying to work with our governments. Sadly, our local governments have not stood up for our local businesses nor reciprocated their outreach. We at the VFW stand with our local businesses; especially our local restaurants and our theater. With that being said we want... to put our money where our mouth is. We want to join our local restaurants and will be resuming normal operations at VFW Post 8988 as of today. We also want to support as many restaurants as we can as well as our amazing theatre. We have purchased $500 worth of gift certificates/cards to some of our local restaurants and our theatre (Salsa’s, Astorgas, Mahogany Smoked Meathouse, Bishop Twin Theatre, Whiskey Creek, Great Basin Bakery, 1903 Taphouse, Owens Valley Distillery, Looney Bean, Bowling Alley, Mexico Mercado, Amigos, and Good Earth Yogurt). We are asking that you patronize our local restaurants and theatre. Between right now and Sunday, March 21st, 2021, if you patronize our theatre or any of our local restaurants in Bishop and/or Big Pine, post a picture or screenshot of your receipt or credit card transaction (without personal information) on this thread and you will be entered into a raffle to win one of these great gift cards. If you know someone who doesn’t have Facebook, they can drop off a copy of their receipt. We want to emphasize this is not a fundraiser, just a partnership in hopes of all of us enjoying some time together in our restaurants. Again, we love our local businesses and our community and would put our lives on the line again and again for all of them.
