We recently transplanted 60 poles of sühubü (coyote willow) from an area behind the cultural center to an area on the eastern edge of the COSA. Fingers crossed that these transplants begin to grow buds soon!
A mountain lion was recently sighted in the COSA, here are some fun facts about this big cat! Mountain lions are stealthy and don't like to be seen, so it is a good idea to always be aware when walking in the COSA even if there has not been a recent sighting.
Guess who was spotted in the COSA after the storm? ................. A whole family of mule deer!
A few inches of snow fell on the COSA during the storm this week! Did you know that snow insulates the plants it covers and protects them from other harsh weather elements?
There is a brand new outdoor education program coming to the COSA! Volunteer instructors with experience teaching Traditional Ecological Knowledge or Environmental Education are encouraged to apply. Please see the attached image for detailed information about this opportunity.
Look who spends the winter in the COSA!
