It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Sherman Lee passed away on October 5th, 2017. Sherman was our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Born and raised in Bakersfield, Sherman Lee was proud to be a part of the local community. After attending BHS and graduating a proud Driller in 1959, he attended San Francisco City College for Hotel and Restaurant Management and then returned to help run the family business, Bill Lee’s Bamboo Chopsticks, which had b...een started by his father William C. Lee in 1938. We’d like to thank everyone over the past week who’ve shared their thoughts, condolences and stories and visited us here at the restaurant. Sherman always valued the friendships he had made throughout the years above all else. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, October 12th from 2pm to 7pm at Doughty-Calhoun-O’Meara Funeral Home.
