Amazing art by my amazing hubby. Pictures really don’t do them justice. Just in time for Christmas!!

During the COVID lockdown Chad took on a new art form and we were hoping to market and sell these original works of art in the Orland craft show this month, but unfortunately that got cancelled too. So we are putting these custom beautiful, original liquid art pieces on sale here on Facebook. They would make an amazing Christmas present. Chad did everything, from the meticulous learning process to the final piece that is glazed and framed. Each wooden frame is custom made and burned and finished. The final work of art is sure to catch a lot of eyes on your wall or whomever you gift it to. Please comment on each image for interest and we will PM you.

We had our year cut short with working with the OHS Class of 2020 and that has been devastating, but I am pretty excited to share Morgan's awesome pictures. Attention all OHS Spring Sports families at Orland High School: Due to the coronavirus our print lab temporarily closed in March to keep their employees safe. This was before they were able to print all of the sports picture package orders. We have been notified that they will do their best to open at the end of April, but unfortunately there is no affirmative date as they are considered a non-essential business. All of us in the photography industry are praying these stay-at...-home measures stop the spread of this awful virus and we can continue to conduct business in the coming months, but everything is so uncertain right now. I will of course keep the school updated on the status as it changes. Who would want cap and gown pictures even though the schools are closed for the year?

Just wanted to pop on and post my last baby I photographed before all the craziness of the shelter in place orders. Baby R was 3 weeks old, but was born a few weeks early so he was still tiny as can be, BUT oh man was he strong. I swear he did a full on push up when I tried to lay him on his tummy! When all the dust settles with what is happening in our communities I really hope I can continue to photograph sweet newborns because I oh so love it. What a week/month it has been. We have been anxiously waiting and watching to see how the Coronavirus is going to affect our lives and our business. We are "people photographers" after all. We are praying this forced distancing is going to stop the spread of the virus and next month we can all take a deep breath and continue living the awesome, busy lives we all thrive in. Our business will do whatever it can to aide in this process, even if that means just going off the grid... for a while to protect our immune compromised and elderly community members. I have been assured that Spring pictures for Orland schools will be rescheduled. So that is great news. May is an awesome month for pictures! Chad will still be doing mini sessions here at our property if you find you have time on your hands and you want to update your family picture. So baby C arrived on my daughter's birthday and the big plan was for him to come to our home studio so I could photograph his sweetness, BUT all my children decided to get sick at the same time so I had to pack up all my gear and head out of town to make this session happen. AND I am so glad I did because he was just the sweetest thing. I photographed his big brother and seeing them together just melted my heart. Thank you to Heather and Tyler for allowing me to photograph another precious moment in time. If you are in the market for a newborn photographer please send me a PM. What do you love most about your Senior year? My position and role in student government. What are your plans after you graduate? Attend Butte College, transfer to George Mason University in Virginia to get my Criminal Justice Degree, then go to Atonin Scalia Law School to attain my J.D degree and then pursue a career in the FBI Any pets? Yes, 3 cats and 3 dogs.... What are your hobby's/activities? I am heavily involved in ASB Leadership and Golf during the spring. Who inspires you most? No one specific but the ambition of creating a successful career and life is what brings me inspiration. Have you always lived in Orland? Yes What are you most successful at? I am most successful at organizing big events such as fundraisers.

What do you like most about your Senior Year? Being involved in everything. Going to ALL the football games, ALL the dances and all the other events. I’ve joined as many activities as possible so I can make this the best year yet. What I love most is being involved in it ALL. What are your plans after graduation? After I graduate I plan on either attending Montana State University or Hawaii Pacific University to pursue a major in Business Management/Entrepreneurship.... Any pets? I have 2 dogs (Malta & Ruger), 1 cat Lucky and 2 pigs (Wilbur & Ziggy) who will be sold this year by me and my sister at the Glenn County Fair. What are your hobbies and activities? I am a 3 sport athlete my Senior year playing volleyball, soccer and track. Soccer if my favorite sport. I’ve been playing since I was 5 and it is my favorite thing to do. I am also highly involved in FFA being this year’s VP. I am also the Senior Class VP & CSF Historian. Who inspires you the most? My Grandpa, Jerry Hughes. He served his country in a time of need. He also did huge things to grow his community and give back to the people who lived in it. He never stopped giving and expected nothing in return. Who is your best friend? My best friend is Hayley Sites. She constantly pushes me and challenges me to be my best in every possible way. We do everything together and constantly work as a team. She makes me a better person and I wouldn’t be who I am without her. Have you always lived in Orland? I have always lived in Orland. I’ve moved once and it was just up the street. What are you most successful at? I am most successful at time management. I am able to be a 3 sport athlete, a student with a 4.0 GPA this year, FFA VP, Senior Class VP, CSF Historian and Miss Glenn County as an alternate. Time management has become something I am very successful at. Because of it I am successful at every aspect of my life.

-What I love most about senior year is how close it brings you to your fellow classmates. Because you all know it’s coming to the end and you cherish the moments you have left. I love how the moments become sweeter. -My plans after I graduate is to attend Simpson University on a softball scholarship and to major in biology with hopes to pursue a career in the medical field. -I have two horses, which I ride, a miniature donkey, a lamb, 4 dogs, multiple cats, and a parrot. -M...y hobbies are to horseback ride with my mom. I like to do art activities with my sister. And really any type of family game. -I am inspired by multiple people for many reasons, my parents for their work ethic and determination, my sister for being the kindest human being and always seeing the best in people. I am inspired by my grandparents to always seek more knowledge. -My best friends would definitely be my boyfriend Ben Fernandez and my longest friend Amber Kurth. I have so many close friends who I love so much. -I have always lived in orland. -I am most successful at achieving my goals because once I have set one I do not stop until it is achieved. What do you love most about your Senior year? What I love most about senior year is how our class has come together to celebrate our last year of high school. I also love all the moments that come with being a senior from Senior nights, to crowns, to all the memories. What are your plans after you graduate? I plan to attend college in the fall to start pursuing my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a degree in Liberal Studies.... Any pets? I have 4 pets. 2 dogs named Howard and Bernadette as well as 2 cats named Penny and Spaghett. What are your hobby's/activities? My hobbies include painting, dancing, and going on adventures. Some activities I am involved in are cheerleading, wrestling, coaching, and umpiring youth softball. Who inspires you most? I don't have a single person who inspires me. I a group of people who inspire me every day. My team inspires me to continue pushing hard not only for myself but for them. I had the most sweetest baby visit me at the studio yesterday and she slept like a dream. I am so excited to share these teasers with the sweetest new parents ever! I am a pretty big Star Wars fan so having the opportunity to photograph this wedding with all the creative Star Wars elements was absolutely a blast for me. Michael, Janine, and their friends were so much fun to be around. It was such a fun day. Definitely a wedding I will never forget!!

Spent an amazing day with Amber and Key yesterday celebrating their beautiful wedding.

I know I say this a lot, but Chad is just so talented and he deserves some recognition. Sometimes life gets really busy and Chad and I pass the torch from task to task to get through our days. From our family responsibilities, to our farm responsibilities and our business responsibilities. We do this so frequently without a rest that I rarely even get the time to sit down and see who he has been photographing or what he has been working on. Today I took a moment to go through... some of his work and found this little gem of an amazing portrait from a recent engagement session he conducted. I mean, is Chad Billings talented or what? It can't just be me who thinks so, right?! His ability to bring emotion out in his clients and create beautiful, artistic imagery is something I will always be in awe of. And he is so humble about all of it. He rarely even talks about his work too much these days. I wish more of his clients shared his pictures, but I understand that we are all busy. Who hasn't had their picture with Santa yet? Well, tomorrow Santa will be in his sleigh at the Capay Store and we will be there taking pictures! So excited for this fun local event we get to be a part of. Pictures will start around 12:30pm and will be $5 for a digital file of the image. Also, hot chocolate will be served for the kiddos. Everything this past 4 days has been a bit of a blur as Sarah and I watched in horror as the beautiful town of Paradise went up flames. So many wonderful people and businesses.
