#ThankYou Throughout this past year, we at Big Sunday have been super busy adapting and meeting people where their needs were. We began with Dinners for Docs, where we partnered with a local restaurant and fed entire ER/hospital staff breakfast, lunch, and dinners! After the success with that program, we recieved a request through a healthcare union to help other hospital staff who were also severely affected by COVID, and we enthusiastically accepted. This program, Plates o...f Love, partners with @doordash , @ordermark , and private donors to provide $100 gift cards for families to order food in! After the surge in cases these last few months, it has become even harder for these families due to their close proximity to COVID all the time. We had the opportunity to provide these meal gift cards to 300 more families, thanks to our generous donors and kind and caring people supporting this program. Currently, we have provided $100 gift cards to over 1,000 families!! We are so glad to be a part of this, especially with such wonderful partners. Thank you to everyone who was part of helping these hardworking people and their families. (And please note: thanks to our relationship with the union, many of these union workers have been able to receive support through our Foot the Bill Fund, too!) #weareallinthistogether

Artist Spotlight: Malynda Hale Malynda Hale is a singer/songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, activist and mom based in Los Angeles. She has utilized her voice and social media presence to effect change with social justice, female empowerment, LGBTQ+ rights, veganism, and the Black Lives Matter movement. Malynda's love for music and desire to make a difference in the world have led her to be recognized many times for her work. She won Best Female Vocalist at the Hollywood Mu...sic in Media Awards, Best Pop Music Video at the Indie Music Channel Awards, and she has been a headliner for the NAMM show on the main stage and for the Sennheiser stage. She has opened for artists such as Tyrone Wells, Ernie Halter, Levi Kreis, OTOWN and Smokey Robinson. We are so excited to see Malynda share her art with us this coming Friday at 7pm! Our Big Resource Guide has been updated with some incredible Black owned businesses that you can support now, and every day! We try to keep it fresh with lists and businesses we come across and that you submit to us. One list we have highlighted this month is one created by Love and Loathing Los Angeles which has an INCREDIBLE amount of Black owned eateries, coffee shops, clothing stores, home decor stores, and more! If you are in LA, you should definitely use this list to s...hop local and Black. Many of these businesses also do a lot of helping! South La Cafe is one example of a place where you can grab a coffee, and also help out a neighbor! Currently, they are doing massive grocery giveaways that YOU can support.
