Deborah is a self-taught artist continually experimenting with new techniques and materials. She finds inspiration in colors, patterns, shadows and light that occur in everyday life. From the beauty of old antiques to the exuberance of nature and my garden anything and everything is fuel for the fire. "My process is driven by intuition and is often led by the developing work itself" says the artist about her current work. "Also unpredictable is the experience of interpret...ing my work through the eyes of a viewer. The goal is to ignite something that sets off a resonance within, invites attention and draws one inward; the joining of artist and viewer in a journey of discovery." Welcome Artist Deborah Valiquet Myers, to the 2016 Big Bear Lake Artwalk Festival! July 2-4, at the Bartlett Events Center, in the Village, Big Bear Lake. Be sure to stop by space number 16 at the Artwalk Festival to see Deborah's work for yourself. https://www.facebook.com/bigbearlakeartwalk/

Hi everyone! Well, we're well on the way into spring and the show is fast approaching! Costumes contracts are out and if you haven't received yours please talk ...to me or Charlene to get that. Costume contracts are due March 25. Our spring break is April 4-8 this year. Remember, if you're planning to perform you cannot miss more then 3 classes/rehearsals in order to participate. Of course if you sick, it will not count against you. And I understand that things come up, so please make sure you clear an absence with me! And snow days! I don't anticipate any more this year, however if the school district calls a snow day, so will I. As most of you know, I went through throat surgery last week which is why I wasn't there last week. I want to thank all my staff for stepping up and keeping classes going while I've been laid up. You guys are great and I couldn't do this without you all! I should be back by the end of the week.
