"As we progress through this pandemic, there are still many Seniors who are left in isolation." Blessed Low Income Senior Support (BLISS) is here for such people. Though our Mission of providing quality In-Home Care for Low-Income Seniors is side-tracked, we are still providing hope and help through generous monetary and in-kind support, and great volunteers!... We've had the privilege of meeting Veronica, a spouse of a current BLISS care recipient in Safari Mobile Park. Veronica has volunteered to prepare meals with groceries purchased by BLISS through the generous help of our supporters. Her joyful spirit and efforts delivering delicious, home-cooked meals has sparked not only a smile, but hope and a satisfied appetite to Seniors in her community as well. We've also been fortunate enough to receive support from Panera Bread. We've received a variety of baked goods that has been distributed to residents of Safari Mobile Park. Another volunteer that has played a huge role in the success of BLISS is Janice. Since the pandemic started, BLISS has been limited in access to the Seniors we serve. Some were drawn to isolation due to lack of family visits and social interaction. Janice has taken on the task of making weekly wellness phone calls to Safari residents who requested social interaction. Through this act of kindness, our Phone Pal Program came to fruition. We are extremely grateful for the support we've received from our community members and the time our volunteers have dedicated in providing joy and peace of mind to Seniors in our community.
