The salaries of the Berkeley mayor and city council members will go up 75%, thanks to the apparent passage of Measure JJ.

With nearly two thirds of the vote, Elizabeth Echols will keep her seat on the East Bay Regional Park Board.
The current ranked-choice calculations put Terry Taplin solidly in first place with 63% of the District 2 vote. There are still a lot of ballots to count, but many more voters put Taplin rather than incumbent Cheryl Davila in second place on ballots for the candidates slated to be eliminated through the ranked-choice process.

The voting center at Berkeley High was a little wet this morning! But that didn't put people off voting. Kimberly Jean and her son Rielee voted and dropped off her 76-year-old mom's ballot too as her mom didn't want to leave the house.
