Don't miss our two Elizabeth Povinelli events next week! Povinelli is a Professor of Gender Studies & Franz Boas Professor of Anthropology at Columbia University and her writing has focused on developing a critical theory of late liberalism that would support an anthropology of the otherwise. Informed primarily by settler colonial theory, pragmatism and critical theory. This potential theory of the otherwise has unfolded primarily from within a sustained relationship with her... Indigenous Karrabing colleagues in north Australia and across five books, numerous essays, and six films with the Karrabing Film Collective. The first event will be her lecture on the "Four Axioms of Existence" and the second event will be a viewing of the Karrabing Film Collective Film ""The Mermaids, or Aiden through Wonderland" that Povinelli was a part of creating, followed by a post viewing Q & A with Povinelli. See our two events pages for more information on the individual events. Both events are free and open to the public!
