Berkeley Mills Furniture and Cabinetry 12.11.2020

We have had many door projects passing thru our shop this summer, all of them including beautiful custom glassworks, unique frame designs or custom hardware (or all of the above!). Our latest workshop journal video entry shows the process of building a custom entry door from rough lumber to finished installation. In this case, the door was designed by the client's architect, and was part of a larger remodeling project. ... The Berkeley Mills team collaborated with the client, architect and contractor to fine tune the design, material selections and installation. We also referred the client to a local glass artist, Dorothy Lenehan, whose beautiful work can be seen both in process and in the finished piece in this video.

We are proud to have finished this beautiful Library. Our design and production team worked closely with the client to address all of the constraints of the space and to build something that would function well while seamlessly integrating into the architecture. The building process included detailed planning for parts cut on the CNC machine, careful assembly and precise installation. ... The bookcases also had special slots that had to be made to accommodate all of the wires for the LED lighting.

We recently finished building and installing this beautiful and sculptural custom chandelier. The design inspiration came from the imagination of one of our very creative clients. In collaboration with the client, our engineers and craftsmen worked together to bring her concept into reality. Built around a sinuous core of bamboo plywood skinned with maple veneers, the dimmable LED light bars are encased in solid maple ribs and the whole assembly is suspended from stainless steel cables with adjustable fittings. The fabrication of this custom wooden chandelier was accomplished using CNC machining, intricate veneer work, and precise fitting of all of the parts.
