Facilitator Spotlight This semester, our Monday/Wednesday 6-8 section will be facilitated by Jasmine and Frida! Jasmine is a fourth-year transfer majoring in Sociology and a minor in Journalism, while Frida is studying political economy and sociology. They’re passionate about spreading awareness for mental health, immigration policy, and sexual and gender-based violence. Salma and Yasmeen are from opposite ends of California, while Ella is a transplant from New York. Despite having drastically different majors (poli sci, social welfare, and physics), they’re passionate about making change and reforming the ways we think about mental health, intersectionality, and sexu...ality. Formerly known as FemSex, GenSex is a course that focuses on the intersection of gender, sexuality, and identity. Students will have the opportunity to explore aspects of their own identity, and how their experiences have shaped their understanding of their sexuality and self-image. This course covers a wide range of topics, and the name of the course has been changed to reflect that breadth. GenSex aims to create an atmosphere that facilitates personal introspection and growth, and our goal is to empower students to share and learn from their own experiences.
