Berger Kahn regularly participates in fundraisers held by Project Youth, a program that provides academic, financial, and wellness support for at-risk youth and families in Orange County. On Friday, February 19, Partner Erin Ezra and Paralegal Hannah Hong attended University at Buffalo School of Law’s career fair. Subrogation Leadership in the Woolsey fire successfully finalized a $2.2 billion settlement between Southern California Edison (SCE) and over 100 subrogation insurance plaintiffs and other holders of Woolsey fire claims. The AP quoted Managing Partner Craig Simon, saying This was a group effort by a lot of talented subrogation counsel. I was happy to be selected to a leadership position on the subrogation track for the Woolsey Fire Cases, working alongside other smart and hardworking counsel who worked as a team. Subrogation and Individual Leadership also worked very well together on liability issues, to bring about this result. This year, Berger Kahn is once again participating in the Orange County Bar Foundation Project Youth OC Marathon fundraiser. Typically, Berger Kahn team members, along with family and friends, run the OC marathon, half marathon, or 5k in order to raise money for the Project Youth program. This year’s event will be held virtually. Project Youth OCBF is a non-profit organization committed to promoting health, safety, and education for Orange County youth. On October 15, 2020, Dave and Erin Ezra attended the Inner City Law Center’s 2020 Awards. The virtual event benefitted the Inner City Law Center’s mission to end homelessness. This year’s event featured special guest Myrlie Evers-Williams, Former NAACP Chairwoman, and a special performance by violinist, social activist, and MacArthur Fellow Vijay Gupta. For every person who attended the virtual event, five meals were donated to homeless residents of Skid Row. Over $700,000 was raised in support of the ICLC’s fight to end homelessness.

Berger Kahn’s David Ezra a USC Gould School of Law Class of 1990 graduate, attended the 30th reunion of his class on Saturday, September 26, 2020. Due to the current circumstances, the reunion was held virtually, where friends and classmates connected via Zoom.
