Hello, Mendocino Coast Community- We are all working together to adjust in these unprecedented and challenging times. Parents and Friends, Inc. is proud to continue its mission to serve adults with developmental challenges and similar needs to participate fully in our community. Right now that means supporting people who continue to report to work in our community to provide essential services, and, making sure that the people we care for in their homes are safe and healthy. ...Like so many employers here on the coast, we have had part of our workforce step away due to COVID-19. Specifically, those who have worked in Community Integration programs that have temporarily closed due to the Shelter In Place order, those are age 65 or older, those who have compromised immune systems, or that need to care for a sick family member or child during the Shelter In Place order. We value all of our more than 170 staff members, and have been able to offer alternative work assignments for those who work in programs that have temporarily closed. If staff are unable to accept alternate work due to reasons outlined above, PFI is continuing to pay these individuals their normal salary and benefits while they are unable to work due to this health crisis. We appreciate the support of our inclusive community as we prioritize our work to support among the most vulnerable members of our community with the care and essential services they each deserve and are entitled to. Parents and Friends is continuing to hire in-home care providers, and offer paid training, paid time off that begins to accrue on your first day of work, a company-issued cell phone, and more. Our full time employees (30 hours or more per week) enjoy fully paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
