We have closed our doors permanently. It is with much sorrow that I have had to make this decision. Tried to sell it to a local person who could service your area better, but no one was willing to take it on, it would have been a great service and opportunity for them. I had posted something here but evidently somehow it did not get published, I'll try again. Beehive Books at the Lancaster location permanently closed its doors on December 24th. After a very poor showing for Christmas sales I might add. It is with great sorrow that I have had to make this decision. I wished someone local was as passionate about the bookstore as I am, it's a great way to "LighttheWorld" to members and non-members alike. ... I just couldn't continue to service your area from Bakersfield and do you justice. My schedule is just pulled in so many directions. Well it is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to our valued customers in the Lancaster/Palmdale area. We officially closed our doors New Years Eve day. Ironically the. last two customers were missionaries in the area, they came in while we were packing up the store. For those of you who shopped the store and were so happy to have it available for all your resources and gift giving as well as products that uplift and edify your soul and are great missionary tools, we tha...nk you. It just wasn't enough though for me to continue to try to service this area. It would have been a great investment for a local member as well as a great service to the community, but we were saddened when those who were potentially interested thought it would not be a profitable enterprise. It truly was profitable for us as a means to bring the light of the gospel Jesus Christ into the lives of others. Thank you for allowing us to do that for the last 9 years. Hello Beehive Books Lancaster friends. If you aren't aware of it yet our long time employee, Robbie Wells went and got married last week. As a result we have made an employee change at the Lancaster location. Claire Eddy now is the full part-time employee. She has worked for the Bakersfield Beehive Books for several months and was primed to take over for Robbie. We also have Joseph who will be working a couple of times a month. Please make Claire welcome. She is very meticulo...us and does get a little flustered when she feels she is being hurried too much, I hope you will have patience with her and truly show forth Christ like attributes as we make this transition. Thank you for your patronage. It has been a hard year for both of the stores and we need all the help and support you can give us as this will probably be a transitional year to see if we will continue to stay in business. We really hate to close there as we have so many good customers who value having a bookstore in the Lancaster area. These customers cannot support the store alone, what we need to do is spread the word as much as we can, make sure new move ins know there is a store there and invite people who haven't shopped at Beehive Books to try us out. We keep all the newest product out and continually look for other new products to help enrich and edify the lives of all people members and not-members alike.
