Added some subtle pops of pink during this beautiful bombshell @kanasocal last highlight appointment using all @kenraprofessional color, lightener, styling products and my trusty @olaplex added into every mix. Lifting dark hair to achieve such a light blonde while maintaining the health of the hair requires a lot of time, patience, and being very meticulous with sections and placement. I once had a similar experience. A gentleman by the name of Mr. Miller (not hard to remember since I have the same last name) and his care taker came into the shop I was working at at the time for a haircut. Mr. Miller and I shared laughs, he was a little flirty (a lot of ppl battling alzheimers and/or dementia become very flirty lol), and so so sweet. A week after his haircut, a woman came into the salon needing a haircut. As I was doing her hair, she confided in me that she... had just lost her husband the day before after his 10yr battle with alzheimers and dementia. She said he came in the week before and recieved one of the best haircuts from the sweetest girl he couldn't stop talking about. I turned her chair to look at her, welling up with tears, and asked if her husband was Mr. Miller. When she said yes, I told her I was the girl who had cut his hair. We both started crying. Mrs. Miller came in for a haircut that day, but I ended up doing a full makeover for her with a cut, color, and style. She cried happy tears at the end of our appt saying she hadn't felt that beautiful since before her husband's diagnosis. I was 19 at that time and had no clue how my profession could impact others lives. I now fully understand and am eternally grateful for the career God has gifted me with. The power to touch other ppls lives is a gift I won't ever take for granted.
