In times like this, it can bring to light how many things we might have taken for granted before. Like for instance, getting to come into the salon and get your roots touched or get a haircut whenever you wanted. I definitely have taken for granted getting a cappuccino, ordering food out, and interacting with people all day long!... With everything on in the world, I’ve missed all of my clients so much! It makes me so much more aware of how often I would look forward to our catch-ups with you in my chair. I’m realizing maybe I’m more of an extrovert than I thought. So if you’re a client of mine, tell me one or two things that have been going on since we last hung out.... Nothing but smiles in this hard time What an interesting time to be alive. I went from working two jobs, to unemployed in a matter of a day. The shelter in place keeps getting extended, with no true end in sight. Most people are being effected in so many ways. And yet, I’m not afraid.... If there’s anything I know about running a business, it’s that business owners are resilient. They are creative. They are passionate. They are giving. Even when things are so uncertain, they bring a sense of comfort, familiarity, and well being to their community. This is a time of reflection, slowing down, and focusing on the bigger picture. I haven’t slowed down since I opened my business. To be honest, NOT being busy is rather uncomfortable for me. But this time is forcing me to be uncomfortable, and take this time to grow in different ways. I’m getting creative and clearing my mind for bigger ideas. Will I come up with something? I’m not too sure, but the creative juices are definitely flowing... mostly in the form of Tik Tok video ideas, but you know, baby steps I appreciate all that have messaged me asking what you can do to help during this time. Yesterday, Santa Clara County issued a shelter in place and is requiring a mandatory shut down for all non-essential businesses. This shut down starts today and will go until April 7th, 2020, unless things change in the coming weeks. Alchemy Hair will be closed, so I cannot take any clients during this time. I am feeling overwhelmed, scared, and helpless about all this, but I hope that this precautionary measure will help us get back to normal. I will be sending out e...mails to clients that have appointments with me during this time, and will be extending my hours for the following weeks to help accommodate. Please bear with me, since I’ve never experienced this type of emergency in my business, and I have a lot of people to contact. Thank you for your continued support. These are some weird times we are living in. Please do the best you can to stay home and try to find some peace with all of this.
