Beautify Cambria was very busy in 2020. With a generous grant from the Cambria Community Council, we designed and created a beautiful multi-magazine kiosk and located it in front of the Cookie Crock Market, a wonderful improvement over the nine rather unsightly single kiosks. It’s very attractive and functional. It is a Claudia Harmon Worthen design. We are proud to say the whole project was created in Cambria. The master woodworking was done by Scenic Coast Cabinets, t...empered glazing was provided by PolyPro, the copper roof came from Lafferty Heating and the beautiful lacquer finish was done by Alario. Beautify Cambria planted a memorial tree and created a lovely stone with steel plaque for the late Chris Holland, a long time contractor and friend of many. Wil Scroggins, refinished and updated his three artful benches, the largest seen here next to the memorial tree adjacent to the Bluebird Motel. See more
Beautify Cambria’s latest project was installed in front of the Cookie Crock on Sept. 15, 2020. Thank you to the Crock for enthusiastically supporting our prototype project. Magazine publishers, BCA board members and Cookie Crock managers were present for the unveiling. Thank you to the Cambria Community Council for the grant that paid for the majority of the cost. Designed by Claudia Harmon, constructed by Scenic Coast Cabinets with self-closing doors and moveable shelves, tempered glass doors by PolyPro and copper roof made by Lafferty Heating. A patina will be added by BCA member, Jason Anderson. A truly local project. The magazine and newspaper publishers were very pleased with our Kiosk Klutter solution. Beautifycambria.org always working to clean up and enhance our village.
Beautify Cambria is very happy to have purchased five Monterey cypress trees on December 19th with money from fundraisers and donations. Pacifica Hotels, who sponsor the three Main Street medians, had their landscapers plant four trees in two medians along with lavender and rosemary bushes. The fifth tree was planted near our Bluebird Motel Wil Scroggin’s bench. It is a memorial tree to the late Chris Holland, much loved Cambria contractor, friend and father. A small sign will be posted in the near future.
