Are you in need of childcare? Are you an essential employee? Changing Tides Family Services is available and is providing assistance. For full details visit https://changingtidesfs.org/ESSENTIALWORKERSPORTAL Children of essential workers are now eligible to enroll in subsidized Emergency Child Care, subject to capacity, if all of the following apply:... The family works as an essential worker as defined by the Executive Order List. https://changingtidesfs.org//CA%20Exec%20Order%20List%20Es -If the family includes a two-parent household, both parents/caregivers must either be essential workers or the other parent must be unable to provide care for the child due to incapacitation -The family requires childcare to perform their essential work -The family is not able to complete their work remotely -The family assets do not exceed $1,000,000 (One-million dollars) Families who meet these requirements are eligible to receive Emergency Child Care services through June 30, 2020. Families enrolling as an essential worker will need to complete a brief application and self-certify their income. How Does the Emergency Child Care Process Work? In order to access payment for child care, families enrolling as essential workers will need to complete a brief application and self-certify their income through Changing Tides Family Services. They will also need to choose a child care provider who will be able to meet their needs. If you already have a child care provider who qualifies as a licensed center, a licensed Family Child Care Home, a licensed exempt family, friend, or neighbor, then you are all set to apply. If you need a child care provider: Give us a call or email us and we will help connect you to providers. You can also use our online tool for child care referrals, but please let us know if you want additional help finding care. If you just want to complete the application for payment for child care: Give us a call or email us and we will help you complete the brief application. Or access our online application through the Child Care Eligibility List (CEL) process, where you can create an online account and complete the application any time of the day. Once you start the process, look for the question about being an essential worker and check that box to access the correct application. If you need both: Give us a call and we will help you complete both at the same time or use our online tool for referrals and the CEL for the application Once you have a child care provider and have completed the application, you will be approved for emergency temporary child care. We will provide your child care provider with the necessary paperwork and we will pay them for the care through June 30, 2020.
