Meet our burrito team! Our Sunday morning breakfasts couldn't happen without this small group of volunteers! Each week the food is bought and prepared by our burrito team and the four volunteers then cook and roll 100 burritos for Sunday morning breakfast each week. This is a behind the scenes look at what it looks like making the burritos. It takes about 60 eggs, 4 bags of hash browns, 3/4 of a ham, 2lbs of shredded cheese, and 100 tortillas to make Sunday Breakfast at Beardsley possible!

Meet Ali and Chris! Ali is one of our volunteers that shows up every single Sunday to pour into those we serve. You will always find her hugging someone and greeting them by name. I love overhearing the conversations Ali has with our guests because she always remembers the details of their lives and she is always asking them, "what do you need this week?" Not only does Ali show up Sunday mornings but she spends her week gathering items that the homeless need (tooth brushes, hygiene items, clothing, etc). I snapped this photo of her and Chris, while she was giving Chris, one of our regulars, a care package for the week!! We love having Ali as part of our team!!

Meet Betty, she's one of our regulars and has walked to our breakfast faithfully every Sunday since about the time we started. Last year Betty found out she had breast cancer and has been doing chemo for the last few months, but today she's in a particularly good mood because she got a fancy new umbrella to keep her dry on her walk home! Would you join us this week in praying for Betty and her battle with cancer?

Meet Michael, he's one of our regulars down at Beardsley. Michael spent a year in Iraq during Desert Storm. We have loved getting to know him and having him with us week after week. Michael is currently homeless and our hearts are heavy with how little care our veterans receive. We are glad that we can provide him with a meal every week, but would you join us in praying for Michael to find a place to stay?

The Beardsley Ministry was started about 3 years ago by one man and a small group of volunteers from churches all over Bakersfield. Each weekend we get together to make 100 breakfast burritos, then on Sunday morning we gather at 7:00am to feed people in Oildale. Every week anywhere from 20-80 people come from all over Oildale and the river banks to grab a burrito, hot coffee, fruit, oatmeal, muffins, and cookies. A message or testimony is given after the food is served and we... use this time to speak into the lives of the lost and broken. We are able to listen and pray with people that are hurting and in desperate need of Jesus. This Facebook page was started so that people in our city would be able to see what we do and stay connected with what is going on in our ministry each week. In ministry there are always needs to be met.
