In the beginning of quarantine I weighed 200lbs. I had no intentions of doing any sort of diet or had any plan. But after a few months I had lost 10lbs. I was exercising everyday (lifting or cycling or running) and eating less overall (stress). In September I decided to make a specific effort to get leaner. I was at 190lbs and had never done a macro specific diet. It was hard at first but I got used to it. And I keep training and exercising. And the weight kept coming... off. Today I weighed in at 180.8lbs. So 20lbs lighter. I’m still hitting all my lifts at the gym and my cycling has never been better. In the end finding the physique I wanted was all diet. Honestly I don’t even train that hard. I just don’t take any days off. Thanks to @mighty.mike and @rpstrength for giving me tools to get where I’m going. Age has nothing to do with it. I don’t take many progress pictures to display aesthetics. And honestly it’s because I haven’t felt lean enough to do it in a long time. Last October I decided to start a slow cut. I lowered my carb intake and overall daily calories. In this photo I’m at 199lbs. I haven’t been under 200lbs in about 4-5 years. As I’ve gotten older my fitness priorities have shifted. I still train hard, but I’m stricter about food than I am about how hard I train. And ironically this ...is the best I’ve looked since I was 31. Aesthetics are where most people fail at the gym, and they fail because they train hard but eat like shit. If you want to be big but not lean, then you better be fucking strong. Because otherwise you’re just fat.
