Next to this donut house used to be Ernie Reyes Martial Arts studio, where My son Jake started Taekwondo when he was 5. We would stop by and get donuts sometimes. Jake and I vividly remember this family and the tip jar college fund. I thought that was unique Yesterday through Nextdoor app, our community found out that their daughter (29 years old) will be taken off life support after suffering brain aneurysm. They have not stopped working or should I say could not afford ...to stop. Dad who has been ill getting dialysis and the Mom who had a stroke and paralyzed on half part of her body have been trying to keep their business afloat to make rent and pay their medical bills. Today, just at 9:30 am they already sold out twice. They have people volunteering to make and sell donuts for them. The line has not stopped and people just kept coming up to the door to donate. As we stood in line, my heart cried for the family and cried again to witness such kindness even though we all are going through our own battles. All Mr. Hok asks is a prayer for his family and the community responded with a little bit more.
