Entrusting My Life to God’s Hand All my life, I was always a person with so much ambition and desires. I had so much I wanted to do but I always felt so powerless like a bird with wings but couldn’t fly. Even when I compared myself to the people around me, I was the most lacking and the most foolish. Because of these lacking, I was often hard on myself and on my family, until I learned how to entrust my future into God’s hand. Since meeting IYF and joining CYA, we would lis...ten to mind lectures learn about the world of the heart and the Bible. Each time I left with more wisdom and understanding. These lectures were reflecting all the darkness, sorrows and insecurities I had buried inside of me. I was like a sick patient who didn’t know I needed a doctor. This was how I came to realize my true image. I received salvation in 2015 when I met the heart of God through the Bible. All my lacking and iniquities were too great for me to bare but when I discovered that Jesus had already came to this earth to take away all the sins of the world, including mines, this indescribable peace entered into my heart and for the first time, the burdens lifted off my shoulders. It was not me who went seeking for God but He came and found me when I needed Him most. I didn’t grow up going to church because my family believed in a different religion. However, after learning of the love of God and the sacrifice He made for someone like me, I was so thankful. This is how I started entrusting my life to God's hands. He has fulfilled all things to me even when I couldn't see it. What I am most thankful for is that God knows my heart more than even myself. Now, as I take part in CYA, I can see how God is working through the youths to continue sharing the wisdoms from mind lectures. I used to see my lacking as big as mountains, but now I know even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. In 2020, I remember crying to myself a lot during my one-year short-term missionary trip in South Korea. Why is my short-term missionary experience so differen...t than others? How come I’m not changing like them? How come I don’t have any testimonies like them? I had a lot of resentment in my heart. Why am I here? Why am I wasting my time? I’m just living like a normal person, not a short-term missionary. In this way, I pondered back and forth inside my head. I had no hope. One day, I was reading the book, Notes on Genesis, and Pastor Park (the author) was talking about John chapter 8, the story of the woman caught in the act of adultery. She was caught, and she was trembling in fear for her life, but Jesus was with the woman at the time, and it was Jesus that saved her from death. Her heart was filled with thankfulness, hope, and joy. And the last words that Jesus said to her was Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more. Jesus is not telling her to not commit sins anymore, but He is telling her not to follow her thoughts anymore. Anything that is not by faith is sin. Jesus is telling her that He does not condemn her anymore, so He is telling her to go and not follow her own self-condemning thoughts anymore, but to believe in Jesus who does not condemn her. That made me think of how much I’ve been following my own thoughts. Towards the end of the book, Pastor Park talks about how God said to Abraham, I will bless you and you shall be a blessing. God was not telling Abraham to become a blessing, but that He (God) would make Abraham into a blessing. And through that promise, God accomplished many things for Abraham. God has blessed me so much in the year 2020, but I couldn’t see it. I was only focused on my circumstances that I could see with my own eyes. Me not being able to have a short-term missionary life like others, and me not being able to have stories and experiences like themI realized how foolish I am and how much I’ve missed the grace of God, that God is creating my stories and God is making my short-term missionary life so special. We are so thankful to God because the kids and their parents had a great time. Crafts, stories, recreation and time made a perfect combination of joyful and sum...mer. However, the most important memory is when they listened to the gospel and even though they are kids, they truly believed that Jesus died for them and through his sacrifice the sins were shed away and their hearts are clear and whiter than the snow.
