Apply for a paid youth coaching program this winter/spring! BADA is looking to hire passionate, energetic coaches and assistant coaches for upcoming alternative programming for youth players. BADA is so excited to announce that Jen Pashley has been named our Executive Director! Jen was originally slated for a 12-month interim term through September 2021, and based on her performance especially during such a challenging time, the Board unanimously supported Jen's early transition. "We're highly confident that Jen is the right leader to help us achieve our current Strategic Priorities of promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion, improving community engagement, and enhancing youth and adult programming while ensuring BADA remains a financially sustainable organization," said Bhavin Parikh, the President of BADA's Board of Directors. "Jen embodies the spirit of BADA and acts with integrity and empathy. We're excited to see how BADA evolves under Jen's leadership."

In ten minutes, Dr. Harris provides recent updates on the COVID-19 pandemic and when we can play ultimate again, and he answers COVID related questions from the Bay Area ultimate community. Dr. Harris is a physician at the University Health Services at U.C. Berkeley, and he is a member of the BADA Return to Play Committee, as well as the USA Ultimate Medical Advisory Team. He is an active member of the Bay Area ultimate community, playing with the Shadows and Team Zissou during non-COVID times. In 2019, Jenna helped craft BADA’s new gender by identification policy and created a model for the gender ratio in the mixed game that created space for transgender and non-binary players (the 1-3-3 policy). Youth ultimate will look a little different in 2021. As BADA continues to grow our sport among new and recreational adult and youth players, a newly created ultimate organization in the Bay Area will solely focus on elite playing opportunities for youth, including Youth Club Championships and elite traveling club teams. Urgent Care Chief Physician at UC Berkeley and Bay Area ultimate community member, Harris Masket, returns with a timely update on COVID-19 and is joined by his brother Seth Masket this time for a special talk on "Elections and Infections." Seth Masket is a professor of political science and the director of the Center on American Politics at the University of Denver.

Our friends over at LA Throwback Beach Ultimate Fest have set up a fundraiser with partners in Tijuana to send disc donations and art supplies directly to shelters, as part of efforts to increase civic engagement in the ultimate community.
