Realistically, I'm breaking down. I've faced so many hardships in my life recently that made me drop to my knees and pray. I've been praying for a miracle. I've been praying for better days and all along the Lord has been by my side. Hes been wiping my tears away, hes been comforting me when I feel alone, hes been my strength when I feel like giving up. Yesterday I had a battle with my own thoughts and I almost said "that's it! I'm done" and threw the towel in. Yesterday I w...as struggling. I walked in to Dustin's job and talked to his boss for a little bit. She is so kind and understanding, she, too has been in the position we are in. Anyways as I talked to her I ran into one of the new people that got hired. I introduced myself and walked outside. I congratulated him once more before getting in the car when he said "this job came at the right time, I'm living in my car and went down the wrong path and this is my redemption" right then I knew God had placed that man in my path to remind me that things arent as bad as they seem. He bad it much worse. I shut the door and began to talk to him and tell him about how God is so good and works in powerful ways. Ways we don't even comprehend. As I spoke to him Dustin's boss stepped out again and talked about how she came up from nothing and now she is a manager of the store. It took her 8 YEARS! 8 long, hard years to get where she is today. She said the only thing that got her through was her faith and never giving up. I agreed. God isn't ahead of you, he's not behind you. He stays beside you. When you step back, he steps back, you move forward, he moves forward. He meets you where you are. After a while of talking and exchanging stories I got told about my strength, how brave I am to smile through my hardship. I said the answer of why I smile when it's tough is God. He put money in my account when I didn't have a dime. He put gas in my car when I didn't have a gallon. He put food in my stomach when I didn't have a crumb. He works in mysterious ways and for that I will smile. I will rejoice. I will praise him for all he has and will do. So, though times are so tough and it feels like giving up would be easier I will continue to smile, continue to praise, and continue to be grateful.
