***BARSTOW PAL JUDO CLUB MEMBER WINS BRONZE IN PAN AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS*** Isaiah Ramirez, who is on the USA National Judo Team, competed yesterday at the Pan American Championships held in Guadalajara, Mexico. Isaiah fought well, winning the Bronze Medal and only losing one match to the competitor from Ecuador who won gold. We congratulate Isaiah for his accomplishments.
***BARSTOW PAL JUDO CLUB MEMBER SELECTED TO BE ON THE USA JUDO JUNIOR NATIONAL TEAM*** Isaiah Ramirez, who is ranked #1 in the nation in the Junior 66kg division, has officially been notified by USA Judo that he has been selected to be on the United States National Judo Team to compete in the Pan American Judo Championships. The championships will be held in Guadalajara Mexico on November 18th and we congratulate Isaiah on his accomplishment and wish him the very best.
We want to thank everyone who sponsored, participated, and helped out with our PAL Christmas Cops & Kids Golf Tournament that was held this last Saturday. We especially want to thank Mark & Beth Johnson and Tim Heiden for coordinating and running the Golf Tournament. The event was extremely successful.

***CELEBRATE WITH CARE*** The Barstow Police Department has been conducting illegal fireworks special enforcement and will continue until July 5, 2020. Officers will be focusing on those individuals possessing or discharging illegal dangerous fireworks within the City. This enforcement action is part of our continuing effort to reduce the use and risks associated with discharging illegal fireworks in our community. The Barstow Police Department reminds our citizens that:... The City of Barstow only permits Safe and Sane fireworks to be used within the City limits. Any firework that explodes, shoots into the air, or moves on the ground is illegal. Safe and Sane fireworks can only be discharged beginning Sunday, June 28th from 12:00 noon to 10:00 P.M and Monday, June 29th through Sunday, July 5th from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. Safe and Sane fireworks can only be discharged on private property, located within the City limits of Barstow: not on sidewalks, streets, or public places. Safe and Sane fireworks cannot be discharged by anyone under the age of 18 unless supervised by an adult.
