Update on FREE COVID-19 testing in Los Angeles. Please stay safe out there.
This week is your last chance to peruse the fabulous art on offer via Barnsdall's Virtual Art & Craft Fair. Visit barnsdallartcenter.org to view the collection of cards, prints, drawings, photography, ceramics, fiber arts, jewelry, paintings and sculpture created by Barnsdall Art Center students and faculty. Support local art today! Image: Painting by Erica Goebel, just one of the over 45 artists represented in the online Fair.
Today is Christmas - and we couldn't think of a more fun way to celebrate than with this flashback image taken by photographer Sally Ann Field during a 2014 visit to Barnsdall Art Park. She may have been there to catch an exhibit at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, but it was the snowball fights and other "reindeer games" provided by that year's SantaCon crawl that caught her attention first. Thanks, Sally, for capturing this magical moment at Barnsdall. We hope to see you all back next year! Until then, we wish our local community a happy, healthy holiday season. We thank you, John Outterbridge, for your art. We thank you for your passion. We thank you for all that you brought to Los Angeles! #johnoutterbridge
Heads up! Due to the holidays, there is no #BarnsdallArtsSundays workshop this weekend. Still, we wanted to give kudos to these charming greeting cards designed during last week's informative Zoom! Teaching artist Quan Trang inspired over 40 participants with the history of Delft patterns from Holland, introducing their developmental influence from Italian Majolica pottery all the way through their origins in Chinese ceramics! Your friends at Barnsdall Arts wish you a happy holiday season and look forward to creating amazing new pieces of art in the coming year! (Images are courtesy of Barnsdall Arts .)
