The Baldwin Park Police Department would like to congratulate Officer Ted Espanto on his retirement after 35 years of service to the City of Baldwin Park. Last night was Officer Espanto’s last shift and during briefing, Mayor Lozano and Councilmember Ayala presented Officer Espanto with a plaque to commemorate his 35 years of dedication and service to the community of Baldwin Park. Officer Espanto will greatly be missed.

The Baldwin Park Police Department would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Officer Ornelas and the entire CHP family. May he Rest In Peace. @californiahighwaypatrol On November 23, 2020, at approximately 7:05 pm, Officer Ornelas was riding his department motorcycle when a motorist pulled from the right shoulder to make a U-turn directly in his path. Officer Ornelas’ motorcycle struck the other vehicle, causing him to be thrown from his motorcycle. Of...ficer Ornelas was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster. Despite significant life-saving efforts by medical personnel, on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, Officer Ornelas succumbed to his injuries. Officer Ornelas is survived by his wife, mother, father, brother, and sister.
