Another great tip is to take 20 minutes to eat and use a clock or a kitchen timer when you sit down to eat. Just don't try eating at work like these men from the old day, you might fall off the beam! Answer to our question. Why our body needs 8 glasses of water per day? In 1945 the U.S. Food and Nutrition Board calculated this guideline as the amount of water needed to break down and use your food. The kidneys function is to preserve the water and salt balance in your food and they keep that balance within a narrow range. When you drink extra water that might dilute out these salts your urine will get paler.
