Bakersfield Music Hall of Fame

It's so nice to be mentioned in the Californian today. With postponements and cancellations of all events due to Covid-19 the arts are being remembered. Kyle Carter at the Bakersfield Music Hall of Fame booked Gregory Porter for the concert held at Cal State Bakersfield a few years back. I know Gregory reduced his price considerably for his hometown event raising money for Habitat for Humanity.

We will miss you here in Bakersfield dear friend, heaven has gained a beautiful soul, RIP Lawton Jiles. Singer, songwriter, music publisher and writer of the book, 'The Birth of the Bakersfield Sound.'

Found out this morning that I'm a finalist for the "Best Historical Research in Recorded Country or Roots Music" category from the ARSC Awards for Excellence in... Recorded Sound Research. Now that's a mouthful. Anyway, I'm nominated for the book accompanying my Bakersfield Sound box set. There are only four nominees in my category, but I'm up against Dayton Duncan and Ken Burns for their book accompanying the Country Music documentary series on PBS. Bring it on Burns! Salute to our Veteran's!

Rejuvenate! Kern County has entered Phase II of re-opening, The Bakersfield Music Hall of Fame is working tirelessly to create an even better atmosphere for our customers, great entertainment and new inductions to be announced during the our Phase IV re-opening!

Thank you to Scott Bomar for this tribute to Fuzzy Owen, prayer and love his his family, friends and many music family friends, are hearts are heavy today.

Many of you already know that our shows will be rescheduled or cancelled. Tickets are still for sale on-line at www.bakersfieldmusichalloffame.com as we hope for positive news each day. Until then we will announce the postponement or cancellation during the week your show is scheduled, by Facebook and e-mail and phone. Postponed shows will be given a voucher for the date or refunds for the ticket price will be given to everyone who requests one. That can only happen when we are able to return to our business.
