R O L L E R C O A S T E R Whelp, friends, here we go again to make a long story short, the County of San Diego has decided to stop their enforcement of the current stay at home order what does this mean for you and for us and for the community? It means that we can reopen our outdoor dining operations without the threat of the being cited by the County or the ABC, which could have had an impact on our ability to prepare and serv...e food, and make and sell beer. Beyond the punitive and financial implications, we are hyper aware of the growth in cases and the impact they will have on our already overburdened health care professionals and a medical system that is under water. Many of you have sent notes of encouragement and support, a few have urged us to "just reopen already, everybody else is!" We have felt strongly in our ability to create, maintain, and operate a very safe, distanced in-person dining experience. We have read, like you, the many comments dismissing the legitimacy of restaurant closures, stating that there is no evidence restaurants are the reason for the sharp increase in case counts. Well, we gotta say, we agree. But if *we* aren't the reason, the question to ask becomes: who is? We are now *begging* you - each of you - to do your part. We follow all safety and cleanliness protocols (and more) and require that each of you complies when you are here with us. That is all we can do. The rest? That's up to you. We are passing the baton to you, we are looking to you to do whatever you can to protect yourselves and the community. We stand for the community, we stand for our employees, we stand for our business, we stand for the health care providers. We will open because our business cannot survive if we don't. Feeling a little nostalgic these days, missing the simple pleasure of celebrating with our best people, laughing, having beers, bonding over our collective success throwing it all the way back to 2017 for this one, winning a Silver at GABF (and our third GABF medal) for our fun little Baltic-style Porter 'Herd of Turtles' there was a special buzz about this beer during the festival pouring sessions (and not just because of it's 9+% abv), folks were *really* in to this s...ort-of-unusual, not-at-all-hypey beer style, which made us quite happy to see and then awards day, the trip across the big stage, we couldn't have been more excited We love beer. We love making clean, beautiful, true-to-style, timeless beer that has the power to transport you to another place, maybe even across the world, if even for a few minutes This is the reason we are here. We are relieved and happy to report the tested employees are Covid free. Thank you so very much for the many many comments and DMs of support - we value your trust and are humbled by your belief in us. Thank you. Hope you know how much that means to all of us! We will be closed for at least today, and until we receive negative results for our team. If you know us, you know how careful and meticulous we are in minimizing risk. This exposure happened outside of work, and away from Bagby Beer Company. So many of you have trusted us, and we hope this further demonstrates how much we value that trust. We work hard to go above and beyond to keep you, our team, and ourselves safe - this is a lesson that some things are outside of one's ...control.
