Back in Iraq, CIA officers ordered some army soldiers to torture prisoners. So, they did it. Those soldiers went ahead and tortured the prisoners. ... They thought they were doing right. Oh, I'm sure they knew what they were doing was illegal per se, immoral, unethical, against the code, against international conventions. But, see, they thought they were the good guys. They thought those giving the orders were a legitimate authority. More than anything, they thought they were *justified.* So, they did it. Those soldiers should have known better than to follow illegal orders, but they did it anyway because they figured the people they were torturing were worthless scum, terrorists, just Iraqis, and no one would care. Hell, maybe Americans would cheer, maybe they'd get a medal, maybe they'd even be heroes. That's what the CIA told them. It was war. So, they did it. When Abu Ghraib came to light, when the world found out, it turned out Americans DID care. A lot. And they were ashamed and outraged -- well, most of them, anyway. And so, those soldiers went to prison. They went to prison. But here's the thing: NONE of their officers did. A handful of enlisted grunts were court martialed and sent away, but not one of the officers in their chain of command was. Oh, a general didn't get a promotion and had to retire with a 5-figure pension, but not one 2nd Lieutenant, not one Captain, not one Colonel, none of the officers who allowed their soldiers to commit that atrocity went to jail. And no one from the CIA was EVER held accountable. In fact, it never happened and they were never there. But somebody had to pay. And when things like this happen, it's always the guys at the bottom of the food chain. There are cardinal rules of military life. Two of the most important are, 1) never embarrass your bosses, and 2) shit rolls downhill. That second one is the rule which really matters. Those soldiers deserved to go to prison because what they did was wrong, was criminal, and was against everything we supposedly stand for. But they were patsies. Just dumb fucking dupes, too stupid to keep from being used and discarded by those in power. And here we are, 15 years later or close enough: Those of you who answered Trump's call? Those of you who dressed up as soldiers and stormed the Capitol because guys like Ted Cruz and Matt Gaetz and Q told you to? Well, you're going to prison. You're going to pay. You've been used and discarded like dumb fucking dupes too damn stupid to know any better. Yes, YOU are going to pay. While Trump golfs.

Being a Christian is much more than going to church on Sun. Drumpf broke at least 5 of the 10 Commandments. And forget about the Golden Rule! To me, that is the most basic tenet of Christianity.
