We will be canceling soccer this evening due to rain. *** SKILLS TRAINING AT HOME*** Please have your children practice their skills for 20 - 30 minutes every day. Here are a few skills your children can practice: Toe Taps, Bells, doggies (sole inside roll), pullbacks (sole pull), inside/outside chops, crossovers, fakes/faints. *** MAKE-UP SESSION *** As previously stated in our last post, we have scheduled two make-up sessions at the end of March on Monday, March 29th, and Wednesday, March 31st. Dear Parents, Here are the latest updates for FRIDAY, MARCH 5th, 2021 *** Make-Up Session ***... After receiving feedback from many of the AYSO coaches and families, we have decided to schedule our two make-up sessions toward the end of March on Monday, March 29th, and Wednesday, March 31st. This will allow families to keep the same routine and session times they currently have. We will NOT have any make-up sessions on Saturdays. Like so many of you, we wanted to get our kids outside, moving, and having fun while building their soccer playing skills, mission accomplished!... *** FIELD LOCATION UPDATE *** Over the weekend (and this morning) we made some adjustments to improve parameters for coaches and the kids. Please take a close look at the grids in the attachment. Please find your child’s team number and division. Then look for the FLAG number closest to your box. Good Afternoon French Valley Families, I hope this email finds you all healthy and happy. It has been a while since we have been on the field and had a sense of normal interactions. It has been a challenging time for all, we have had to change the way we work, school, shop and play. AYSO 1508 is not immune from these obstacles and challenges. So I come to you today asking for your help. Our Region is at cross roads and needs your help. With our Regional Commissioner Ce...cila Calvo's term up this November, we are looking to fill the Regional Commissioner position asap. This is a vital position to keep this region running. If you have prior board experience and would like a chance to make a difference in your community, I implore you to consider the RC position. AYSO has great training courses and a great board to help you run an efficient program. I truly believe soccer is for everyone, but not all families can afford to play club soccer, not all kids want to play club soccer. AYSO is here to provide a recreational, fun and safe league for all kids of all talent levels. But WE as a COMMUNITY need to keep this running. I ask those who can to please do!!!! We are only as strong as the players and families that make up our region. We appreciate you and thank you for your support!... Below you will find updates regarding the Fall 2020 season and developments within our region. FALL 2020 SEASON UPDATE We know that many of you have been waiting patiently for what the decision is regarding the Fall 2020 season. After taking into consideration local field guidelines, county health guidelines and state guidelines, as well as protocols that would need to be put in place for health and safety, the board has made the difficult yet necessary decision to forego holding a Fall 2020 season. This decision has come out of much conversation and consideration of many different aspects regarding what would be involved in holding a season. We as a region board are busy making plans for our Spring 2021 season. Be watching for Spring 2021 season information in the coming weeks! CECILIA CALVO, REGIONAL COMMISSIONER As many of you know, our Regional Commissioner, Cecilia Calvo, has been serving AYSO 1508 in many capacities for many years, along with her entire family. AYSO 1508 has greatly benefited from her tireless work and service. As of November 30, Cecilia will be stepping down as AYSO 1508 Regional Commissioner. We recognize and understand that this news may come as a surprise to many of you. She has been the backbone of AYSO 1508 for many years. Please join the board in extending our deepest gratitude and sincere thanks to Cecilia for her many years of service to AYSO 1508. We are always in need of volunteers to help. Section 1 has a widespread geographic footprint and the local realities of the Covid-19 spread and regulations vary from city to city, county to county and from state to state. Our foremost concern is the safety and wellbeing of our players, coaches, referees and extended families. With that said, while there has been no official cancellation of the Fall 2020 AYSO Core season, we are all actively engaged in conversations at the local level with city and school officials, publ...ic health experts and our National Office and are accessing and determining those circumstances under which it would be appropriate to bring our children back to the pitch. Our goal is to keep you constantly informed on the status of our return to play whether that is a full season, an abbreviated season, or a season delayed again, depending on what our assessments tell us. We understand that this may cause some uncertainty and we apologize for that, but it is our promise to keep you updated on a continual basis. Please check back here frequently for additional updates. In the meantime, we encourage you to socially distance and wear face coverings and most importantly, stay safe

Hello AYSO 1508 Families, We are working hard to prepare for our Fall 2020 season. As you know, we will be opening a waitlist registration on 7/4/2020 on our website www.ayso1508.com . As you know, AYSO is an all volunteer organization, and we need your help, to continue to have a safe and fun place for children to learn and play soccer. We ask that you please register as a volunteer to help our region give children the opportunity to play. We are in need of volunteers in al...l areas of our region. Team Managers, Referees, Coaches, Board Members , Field set up / break down, and Tent attendants are some of the open positions that are available. All volunteers must register as a volunteer , complete a background check, and complete appropriate training for the position you would like to help our region in. For our volunteers who will be Coaching this season, please register as a volunteer, complete your background check, and make sure your Coach training is in the division that you will be coaching in this season . We highly recommend to always level up in training for the next division . If you have any questions in regards to Coach Training, please email Coach Art Calvo , at [email protected] . For our volunteers who will be Referee’s this season, please register as a volunteer , complete your background check, and if you have any questions in regards to Referee information or training, please contact our Regional Referee Administrator, Referee Paul Nelson, at [email protected] . Coaches and Referees, please go to our website Home page and fill out a volunteer form. You would still need to register as a volunteer. This volunteer form gives us an idea to see how many more volunteers are needed to help support our region. Please make sure to complete this as well. There are many areas in need of support. Youth volunteers are also ideal candidates to help receive community service hours toward high school graduation. Hello AYSO 1508 Families, I hope this post finds you all well . I am emailing to share some information in regards to our Fall 2020 season. I know many of you all are very excited to have your children register for another great season of soccer. This year has been challenging but we will continue to work hard to put forth a safe and fun season, with government and health officials guidelines in place. Please know we will be opening our Fall 2020 Season Waitlist Registration... this 7/4/2020. We will be placing all registrants on a waitlist registration. The reason is , at this point in time , we do not have access to our parks and fields due to COVID - 19 guidelines with our park management. Once the parks and fields become available , and we have enough volunteers to help support each of our teams, we will begin to activate players from our waitlist to form teams. We may also have to modify this season based on how many registered players we will be having this season as well. Such modifications may be the number of games played and how many players placed on a team . We will know more of this information once we get close to beginning the season. Information will be sent out to make you aware if any modifications needed for this season. When registering your children under the waitlist registration, please make sure to complete your waitlist registration. You will see an order number on the webpage when you have successfully completed the waitlist registration.Its very important to follow through to see that order number when registering your children. We are always in need of volunteers to assist our region to support our teams, our players, and our other volunteers.Please help your child have a memorable season by assisting in their team / division. You not only help your child, but you also give an opportunity for other children to play and learn this sport. Training is at no charge to you . All you have to do is give your time to when you are available. Our region is in need of support in various areas . For those of you who were issued a family credit code from our Spring 2020 season, you will be able to use this as a form of payment if your child is activated from our waitlist .
