The Green Heart Nose is my dedication to Women, Children, Elders and Mother Nature. The Earrings indicate the Four Directions Teachings and The Arrow Earring represents my Creative Native Spirit. . . . Leo is a legendary muralist whose work hangs in the Smithsonian. He created our mural with Jose Antonio Aguirre (a Fulbright scholar whose Byzantine and Venetian glass mosaic murals are internationally recognized). Both artists are pioneers of public art in LA and this piece is based on the famed cat murals called LA River Catz Leo has been painting on storm drain covers along the LA River for over 40 years.

Famously known as the first family of LA Coffee the Pasquini family started selling espresso machines in the US over 60 years ago. Their infamous Livia coffee machine is still regarded as the Rolls-Royce of the models for the home (Tom Hanks even gifted the media at the White House the Livia machine). What maybe isn't as well known is that the Pasquini family are locals - a mere 5mins drive from us here at Atwater Union. Back in early March we were beyond excited to pick up... our very own machine from Gus, who reminisced with our Atwater Union founder Paul Pagnone about growing up in LA with their deep Italian heritage (Paul is also the President of the Italian American Museum in DTLA). And today we're thrilled to learn that the Pasquini family (Gus, Jill and sons Brendan and Jonathan) are featured in a new TV series about their Pasquini Coffee Company on Mailchimp Presents.
