It’s been a year since the 2nd World Budo Karate Association world championships! None of us knew that we’d be wearing masks and training outdoors but we are because we are karate strong! We will be with all of you again, just as soon as we can safely!

Tonight WBKA instructor online training (9/10) led by Avi Rokah sensei and focused on Hangetsu kata, basic sparring flexible reaction (sen, amashi waza, mawashi ashi). This class was dedicated to Nishiyama sensei. Hangetsu kata was one of his favorite kata. #wbkafamily, #budokarate

Today is HIDETAKA NISHIYAMA’S birthday (10. October 1928 7. November 2008). Big respect to our teacher. Oss sensei!

Traditional karate Gasshuku 2020 was held August 12-16, 2020 in Sopot, Poland. Already second time together in cooperation with international organizations Worl...d Fudokan Federation, World Traditional Karate-do Federation and our World Budo Karate Association. All these organizations establish last year World Traditional Karate-do Union to support each other and exchange knowledge in traditional karate. Gasshuku was organized by PZKT/Traditional Karate-do Federation of Poland led by Sensei Andrzej Maciejewski. World top instructor conducted classes for almost 200 participants. Because of closed US border Avi Rokah Sensei (USA, WBKA) and Toru Shimoji Sensei (USA, WBKA) conducted online classes. Their subject was timing, foot work and grabbing techniques connected with Heian Nidan Bunkai. Ilja Jorga Sensei (Serbia, WTKU president) focus his classes on 2nd Kitei (Higashiyama sensei kitei), because WTKU is going to require this kitei in international WTKU championships. Sensei Krzysztof Neugebauer (Poland, WTKF) and Cornel Musat Sensei (Romania, WFF) explain main segments of timing in kumite and foot reaction. We performed bunkai applications in JION kata as well. Santo Torre (Italy) explain body dynamic principle, bunkai applications in Gojushiho Sho kata. During Gasshuku we discussed competitons rules standardization, very important for cooperation in sport events and competitions. In time of COVID-19 pandemic, we organized very successful event, respected all healthy requirements to prevent disease. Thank to all participants for support.

Please watch. The deepest aspects of karate I received from Aiko San. Sensei Nishiyama was great, but could not expresee it as a wise woman like Aiko San could.
