The Apple Valley Animal Shelter is open to the public with modifications in place. Adoption and Rescue services are available by appointment only, with an approved application. The power of a microchip Tasha arrived at our shelter today as stray. Upon scanning, our RVT found that Tasha had a registered microchip. AVAS staff made contact with the registered owner who informed us that Tasha had been missing for about a year! They, unfortunately, received no leads from a possible finder. We are very excited to reunite this family and hope that their story helps reunite more pets! AVAS staff scans all animals upon intake and several times throughout... their stay here at the shelter. Pets found with a microchip here at AVAS are researched thoroughly, right down to the facility that implanted the chip. It is important to keep your contact information current with the microchip company in order to get your pet back home quickly. To schedule your appointment to have a pet microchipped, please call (760) 240-7555, during our normal business hours. Microchips are only $20.00 and come with free registration!
