This is the inside of the cake! I plan to get them ready on Friday but couldn’t finish it until Saturday afternoon. This ornament has nothing to do with what I planned except the shape. I tried chocolate spray the first night and ended up spraying the chocolate everywhere in the kitchen. The second night, I spray the red food coloring everywhere and had to clean for another good hour. I felt frustrated, which I haven’t felt for a long time. When I look at my previous projects..., I realized that I used to fail a lot more and I didn’t set expectations. When I enjoy every minute, I don’t feel frustration. Failure is a huge part of experimenting and it is a normal status of baking for someone like me who always wants to try new things. These are ornament cakes! To see the inside, see my next post. The inspiration is from talented cake artist @zazamarcelle ! The cakes were baked in the half sphere molds. After adding the fillings, the shape changed, and I had to reshape them into ball and smaller to fit in the mold again. The coating chocolate couldn’t be too thin to hold the shape and it couldn’t be too thick to cut and eat. The experiment process is so fun and exhausting. I had to compromise my idea to the... reality that I didn’t have all the tools on hand. But when I see the result, everything is so worth it.
